Note from Allen: I carve and shape all of my calls by hand. There is no lathe work involved. In fact, I don't even own a lathe at this time. I frequently use a Fordom rotary hand tool with burrs and a burning pen to achieve minute detail. The tone boards are hand carved and shaped and I use hand cut brass reeds. I like to use American hardwood and my favorite is butternut. For me, there is something about our American hardwoods like cherry, walnut, chestnut, and butternut, etc., that conjure up that special feeling of our early sporting heritage. The calls are available by commission or special order only. Each call is made one at a time and in the order in which the request was recieved. There is a waiting list. |
